It’s essential that those who work with victims, perpetrators and others affected by domestic violence understand what domestic violence looks like and how it operates. This unit uses contemporary social science research to explain the current state of knowledge about domestic violence. The unit also provides extra teaching and learning support to ensure student success and provides a sound basis for the rest of the units in the Graduate Certificate of Domestic Violence.
Although the domestic violence units can be taken in any order, it is strongly recommended that students commence with JSQ201, especially those who have taken a break from study or have limited experience with online learning. This unit aims to provide core knowledge based on the latest research about the dynamics of domestic violence to inform professional practise and further study.
