QUT’s Master of Engineering Management: now offered online

What separates engineers from engineering leaders? The answer is often management skills. The Master of Engineering Management has long been a popular course on-campus at QUT, and we are now excited to also offer the course online.

With units focusing on the management of people, resources, data and projects, the Master of Engineering Management equips working engineers with crucial leadership skills designed to take them to the next level in their careers.

Who is this course for?

The Master of Engineering Management is suited to engineers currently working in their field, who have completed a recognised four-year full-time (or equivalent) bachelor degree (or higher) in engineering.

Civil, mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as those working in construction and IT, will gain highly sought-after management skills that will complement their existing technical expertise, making them well-rounded professionals and preparing them for management positions.

What will I learn?

This is a thoroughly practical course that has been designed to benefit working professionals and further their careers. Course material is focused on resolving real industry problems with live data, meaning that what you’re learning is always current and industry-relevant.

You will gain important skills such as enterprise resource planning, data analytics, asset management and research-based problem solving. For a full list of units, please see the course page.

Are there scholarships available?

As part of our ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, Queensland University of Technology will offer Women in STEM Leadership scholarships to a number of female-identifying applicants who enrol to study a Master of Engineering Management online.

Women represent only 35 per cent of all students enrolled in STEM-related fields of higher education (UNESCO, 2017), and The Australian Government Report ‘Advancing Women in STEM’ found that women accounted for only 15 per cent of domestic Engineering and Related Technologies undergraduate course completions in 2016 (p. 3).

At QUT Online, we want to encourage female engineers to take their place among the leaders in their field. That is why we are offering successful scholarship applicants a 25 per cent discount on their course fees.
