Cyber security professionals continue to be sought after as organisations prepare contingencies to deal with the escalation of cyber security threats. This course equips you with the skills to investigate and address cyber security and networking challenges, applying industry-recognised methods to design secure systems and evaluate risk.
You’ll build foundational knowledge in information security and network management, while developing the interpersonal and communication skills needed to engage effectively with stakeholders.
The course is delivered fully online and is designed for professionals with an IT background seeking to deepen their expertise in cyber security. If you are transitioning from a non-IT background, the Graduate Diploma in Information Technology (Cyber Security) will equip you with fundamental IT skills and provide a pathway to specialise in cyber security.

Entry requirements
You can gain entry into the Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security with the following:
6-month program
- A completed bachelor’s degree (or higher qualification) in information technology or related discipline
or
- A completed bachelor’s degree (or higher qualification) in any discipline, with three years (full-time or equivalent) professional experience in an information technology-related field
or
- A completed diploma (or higher qualification) in information technology or related discipline, with at least two years (full-time or equivalent) professional experience in a relevant area
or
- Five years (full-time or equivalent) professional experience in information technology or related area
Course outcomes
Graduates of this course build advanced expertise in cyber security, with a strong grounding in the legal and ethical dimensions of data storage. Through a curriculum aligned with the ACS’s Core Body of Knowledge, you’ll sharpen your problem-solving and design capabilities while collaborating in team-based contexts. The course also provides the development of leadership qualities essential for navigating complex cyber security environments.
