The Graduate Certificate in Business Analysis is designed for professionals who have an IT background and wish to upskill in business analysis. If you are transitioning from a non-IT background, the Graduate Diploma in Information Technology (Business Analysis) will equip you with foundational IT skills and open a pathway to specialise in business analysis. You will graduate with demonstrable business analysis knowledge, ready to investigate, appraise, and apply your skills in addressing complex industry requirements. 

Students will gain the specialist skills needed to shine a spotlight on business inefficiencies and use their ICT expertise to propose innovative solutions that optimise business performance and promote organisational efficiency.

Course units

Students need to complete a total of four units:
2 – Core standard units
2 – Elective standard units

Entry requirements

You can gain entry into the Graduate Certificate in Business Analysis with the following:

6-month program

  • A completed bachelor’s degree (or higher qualification) in Information Technology or related discipline

or

  • A completed bachelor’s degree (or higher qualification) in any discipline, with three years (full-time or equivalent) professional experience in an information technology related field

or

  • A completed diploma (or higher qualification) in Information Technology or related discipline, with at least two years (full-time or equivalent) professional experience in a related area

or

  • Five years (full-time or equivalent) professional work experience in information technology or related area

Course outcomes

Graduates of this course gain an adaptable digital skill set, helping them craft better ICT solutions for their organisations. You will acquire in-depth knowledge of ICT strategies, helping you to analyse current business practices and systems functionality, in a bid to optimise business performance. The analytical skills you develop will help you evaluate business practices and investment strategies to solve complex problems in business improvement projects.
