The Master of Education is a comprehensive degree that provides an opportunity for existing teachers and other education practitioners to upskill and enhance their research ability and expertise in particular areas of education theory and practice.
You will have a great deal of flexibility when choosing your units, allowing you to chart your individual pathway through the Master of Education, acquiring dynamic skills in specialised areas of education such as career counselling, inclusive practices in the classroom and embedding indigenous themes into the curriculum.
There are several ways to attain your Master of Education, depending on your background. Each pathway allows you to combine five core Master Units, along with a combination of units or Graduate Certificates in the following specialisation areas:

You can gain entry to the 8 unit (96 cp or 1 year full-time) Master of Education with the following:

If you are already a qualified teacher, you will be able to complete a shortened program that includes the Final Stage Master Units below, plus a Graduate Certificate teaching specialisation of your choice. This will take one year of full-time study.
If you come from a non-teaching background, you have three pathways available, each taking 1.5 years of full-time study to complete.
1. Complete the Master Units below, plus two Graduate Certificate specialisations of your choice.
2. Complete the Master Units below, plus one Graduate Certificate specialisation of your choice, plus 48 credit points' worth of units from the five available education specialisations, which you are free to mix and match.
3. Complete the Master Units below, plus 96 credit points' worth of units that you can freely select from the five available specialisations.
